Mini Quartz Trigger Quartz Clock Movement, Replaces Young Town 12888
This is a genuine Yongtown 12888 trigger movement. The trigger wires are connected to a switch inside the movement that closes on the hour to trigger a sound making device. These movements are commonly used in novelty clocks that have the sound of a bird, train, or other sounds on the hour. Threaded part of hand shaft is 3/16" long, 5/16" diameter, to go through up to 1/8" thick clock face. The total shaft length is 1/2".
All of our quartz movements are shipped with mounting hardware. We no longer include free hangers. These movements can be used with or without a sweep second hand.
This movement uses press on hands, our regular quartz hour and minute hands will not fit this movement because the minute hand for this one will have a round hole and will simply press on. The hands shown on this listing are the only ones we sell that fit this movement. You can add them to the movement for a minimal charge.
Diameters of hand shaft mounts are the most popular. Hour: .2" (5 mm) Minute: .125" (3.2 mm)
Movement Case Size: 2-1/8"W x 2-1/8"H x 9/16"D
We also have this model without the trigger wires. Our model number for that one is 12888S.
Face and dial thickness means: how thick the material is that the hand shaft goes through.
