Mini Quartz Clock Movement for up to 1/4" thick face

$3.15

This movement uses our I-Shaft hands for quartz clocks. Our mini quartz movements are 2-1/8" x 2-1/8" square and 5/8" deep. They use one "AA" battery (not included). They can use any of our quartz hands up to 5-1/2" long.

The threaded part of the handshaft is 5/16" in diameter. All of our quartz movements are shipped with mounting hardware. We no longer include free hangers. You can purchase our HANGER-T to go with this movement.  These movements can be used with or without a sweep second hand. If you order a sweep hand we will send an open nut that will allow you to use all three hands.

Want free hands? Get free hour and minute hands (up to 5-1/4" long) with purchase of a quartz movement. One free pair with each movement you buy. Choose hands here:  https://norkro.com/collections/hands-for-quartz-clocks

Threaded length: 5/16"

Face thickness (this is how thick the material is that the hand shaft goes through) 1/4"

Total shaft length: 5/8"

The American "I" shaft hand configuration is fairly easy to identify without measuring the mounting holes. On all American "I" shaft movements, the mounting hole in the minute hand is "oblong with two flat sides", and the hour hand hole is round. The American "I" shaft configuration is used on most (but not all) battery and electric movements. It is not used on mechanical movements. The American "I" shaft configuration also requires a small round nut (included with movement purchase) to hold the minute hand in place.

Not good

I bought this Quartz Clock Movement because it seemed to come from a REAL clock maker and was made in the USA. He even gave me an pair of extra hands for free because I was not sure what hands would fit. This is for a 1920th clock that I inherited from an aunt. More than 40 years ago she had a clock maker put in a Mini Quarts Movement that after all that time stopped working. The new quarts movement that Norkro sent me is off mcuh lesser quality than the one it replaced. Point 1 It has no start or stop switch like the old one. This was handy to stop it for 1 or 23 hours when we change the time twice a year. This clock face is behind glass that is hard to remove so I can not move the hands. Also on the back where the old one had a little disc with ribs that you could use to move the hands, this one has a very small white spindle sticking out that you can only grab whit a pair of pliers to change the time.
The front plate of this clock is held with two 2.5mm screws against a back plate and it took me hours holding them with a pair of tweezers to put the clock together. If it had not be so tedious I would have ordered a new Mini Quarts Movement with at least having the ribbed disc on the back to change the time.
All with all a very disappointment and I don't look forward when we have to change the time in a few weeks.

There should have been a knob on the tiny white post on the back. Sometimes they fall off. I can mail one to you. All you need to do is press it on that white post. Then you can turn the knob to set the hands. Not very many manufacturers make movements with an on/off switch anymore. Let me know if you want me to mail the knob to you. Thanks!
